Can I get a copy of my Chex Systems report?
By Eugene S. Melchionne, Connecticut Consumer Attorney on Jan 10, 2008 in Credit Reporting
Just like the Credit Bureaus that we all know, Experion. Trans Union and Equifax, Chex Systems is subject to the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA) amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This means you can order a free copy of your Chex Systems report once a year. You can order that report online here.
Just like any credit bureau report, you have the right to dispute items that appear on your Chex Systems history. With the occurrence of identity theft and computer security breaches, it is increasingly likely that your report will contain errors. You can file an affidavit with Chex Systems detailing the nature of the identity theft or fraud.
Now you have yet another source of information that you need to monitor for accuracy.
