IRS Warns Of New Credit Scam Via Phishing Email

The IRS is warning people of a refund scam that comes in an email that provides links to apply for a tax refund. Refunds are applied for within tax returns, not by a separate application.
Like banks and credit card companies, the IRS will never email anyone and ask for personal information about your social security number or any account information.
With tax season underway, and government tax credits on their way, it never hurts to remind people to guard their personal information. Never give out personal information in emails or if you are called on the phone. Protect your credit identity.
